Built From Scratch to Show I Could

This was a self-initiated project. I created two fictional companies — Safe Haven Homes and Strongate Locks — along with realistic competitive scenarios, to demonstrate the full process behind building effective sales battlecards.

The goal wasn't to fill space in a portfolio. It was to prove I understood the discipline well enough to construct a realistic, usable example independently — from competitive research through final design.

The real skill here: Knowing what information matters to a sales rep mid-conversation, and structuring it so they can find it in under 10 seconds.


Research First, Design Second

Each card was built through a structured process: defining the competitor's positioning, identifying their genuine strengths, surfacing their real weaknesses, and then — most importantly — translating all of it into specific talking points and rebuttals a rep could actually use.

The design decisions were equally deliberate. Layout, hierarchy, and language were all evaluated against one question: can a rep find what they need in under 10 seconds?

Audience-Centered

Structured for sales reps mid-conversation. Clarity and speed prioritized above comprehensiveness.

Visual Hierarchy

Key differentiators and rebuttals surfaced at a glance. Supporting detail available but never in the way.

Strategic Positioning

Each card frames strengths in direct contrast to the competitor — not generic claims, specific talking points.

Field-Ready Format

Designed to work on screen or printed. No scrolling required to find the key points.


The Finished Work

Two complete battlecards, each covering company overview, products, strengths, weaknesses, and a "How We Win" section with specific rebuttals for the most common competitive objections.
